Overwhelmed!

So, incase you didn't already know, the closing on this monstrosity was today. We are soooo excited and happy to be finally getting to jump into this project! Keys are in hand (even though Rick already misplaced one!! haha oh well.. installing new locks tomorrow anyway) and we have plans up the wazoo! Tonight i had a mild melt down about all of the work that is ahead of us.

Walking through the house tonight, we both realized how much work we actually have to do on every single room to reach our goal. Everything from the ceilings to the baseboards needs a full body makeover and then some. It seems like we have a hard time not looking at the whole big picture. Have to remember what my mom told me about how to eat an elephant... one bite at a time. It's going to be a lot of blood, sweat and tears, Howeva!! at least this place is semi clean (except for a few squirrels in the attic, no biggie) and livable. water.. check!, gas..check!, electricity.. check!

Now.. who wants to help us haul all of our heavy stuff over there??? compensation will be provided with pizza, beer and lovely jungle room accommodations.. xoxo the axe!

  1. Hey Axe (Iluvurnames)
Focus on the advice your mom gave you on how to eat a elephant....one bite at a time. She sounds like a smart woman! (I am looking forward to meeting her.} No sweat (well maybe alot of sweat, but I have so much confidence in The Axe and Sledge that I know this monstrosity will come out looking smooth and beautiful just as y'all envisioned. Hey if anyone can do this, I think you and Sledge can! Determination and working together coupled with your love of DIY and your desires to turn this thing into a comfortable HOME -- and throw in both of your talents and knack for design and decor -- you'll do a jam up good job!!!!
The hardest part,as you both have already realized is trying to have the patience to go one room at a time and realize you have to take it one day at a time, and most important, don't lose sight of the big picture. Hey and get enough R and R and time out for yourselves to enjoy life in amongst all the hard work.
I love you guys and am looking forward to helping as much as I can!
Happy and excited for you both here in little town of Phil Campbell!!!! Don't hesitate to call us for help -- we didn't hesitate asking y'all to help when we need it.
    LUV UINS!
